An Ohio native, Steve Allenby moved to the northeast to attend law school in Vermont. His first position after graduation was as an in-house attorney at Central Vermont Public Service, and he later became a senior vice president.
Steve's career advanced to include a variety of roles in renewable energy and energy-efficiency financing, including serving as an executive vice president at Catalyst Financial Group and United Financial of Illinois. In 2003, Steve left to start his own company in the energy finance field.
His work allowed him flexibility to spend time with his family, volunteer in the community and at church, and for 15 years, coach middle school and high school basketball.
Steve is now retired and devotes significant time to serving as president of the board of Kearsarge Neighborhood Partners, a regional non-profit. He has three sons, three daughters-in-law, and eight grandchildren, who live in Andover, New Hampshire, Cumberland, Maine, and Annapolis, Maryland.
Steve and his wife love living in New London and are huge fans of New London Hospital.
