This year marks a truly special milestone for New London Hospital (NLH), as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our annual Hospital Days tradition, July 30-August 1, 2026. For a century, Hospital Days has brought our community together in celebration of the hospital and the vital care we provide to the 15 communities we proudly serve.

Proceeds from the event will support programs and initiatives that strengthen the care and services available to patients and families served by NLH and Newport Health Center (NHC). Every dollar raised stays local, helping ensure our neighbors continue to have access to the care they need and deserve.

Parade

Join us for the 100th Annual Hospital Days Parade on Saturday, August 1, 2026!

This year’s theme, A Century of Celebration, offers a fun opportunity to showcase a favorite decade, from the roaring 1920s to the vibrant 1990s and beyond.

Join us in honoring 100 years of tradition and community spirit. We hope you’ll take part in this beloved event and help make this year’s parade one to remember.

Recognition will be awarded in the following categories: Most Creative Entry, Best Theme Entry, and Most Colorful and Unique Entry

Movie Night presented by Cushman Lumber

Join us for a special Hospital Days event, Movie Night presented by Cushman Lumber, featuring The Goonies! Bring your blankets and chairs and enjoy a fun night out with family and friends on Thursday, July 30 at 8:00 PM! This event is free and will be located on the New London Town Green. In the case of inclement weather, this event will be held at Whipple Hall.

Memory Lane Exhibit presented by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust

In addition to the festivities, NLH invites members of the public view a special Memory Lane Exhibit presented by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. The exhibit is on display now at New London Hospital and will be on the Town Green Saturday, August 1 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

New for 2026!

Wildlife Encounters will bring their outreach program to Hospital Days! Join us on Saturday, August 1 at 9:00 AM for this exciting and educational presentation. Animal visitors vary and may include coatimundi, hedgehog, Tegu lizard, giant toad, tarantula, snake and/or parrot. Grab a seat on the grass near the warming hut between the New London Inn and the town office and enjoy the show!

Little Acres Traveling Farm will bring some of their animal friends to visit on Saturday, August 1 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Guests can meet small animals like rabbits and goats, and take a ride on Eli the pony!

Activities

This year’s activities include returning favorites like the Jewelry Sale, Teddy Bear Clinic, and Dunk Stool. And even more new additions! See our schedule below for more details.
