NEW LONDON, NH — New London Hospital (NLH) is pleased to welcome two new Board of Trustees members, Bob Friedlander, Jr., MD and Michael Liberty. Chosen for their dedication to NLH and the local community, Bob and Mike offer extensive experience that perfectly resonates with the hospital's mission and future aspirations.
After many years as a partner at NH Oncology-Hematology PA, Bob completed a one-year fellowship in palliative medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He then worked as Associate Medical Director of Palliative Care at Harvard Vanguard/Atrius Healthcare in Boston. His subsequent retirement has been devoted to a wide range of volunteer activities in both Concord and North Sutton where he and his wife, Jackie Winn, live. These have included mentoring New American youth, organizing the NH healthcare community in political and issue-focused advocacy campaigns, and founding the nonprofit NH Healthcare Workers for Climate Action, where his focus is on helping to protect the health of young children in a changing climate. Bob is a graduate of Phillips Exeter, Yale College, and Weill Cornell Medicine.
Mike is a New Hampshire native. In 2011, while living in San Francisco, he co-founded Signifyd, one of the largest providers of e-commerce fraud protection services in the world, serving as its Chief Product Officer and leading all Research & Development. In 2023, he was named one of the Top 25 Software Product Executives by The Software Report. He has also held positions in finance and operations with PayPal, J.P. Morgan, and CIVC Partners. Mike moved back to New Hampshire in 2015 and settled in New London with his wife, Dr. Frances Lim-Liberty, who works as a pediatric endocrinologist at Dartmouth Health. Mike and Frances have three daughters. Mike earned an A.B. in Economics from the University of Chicago and an MBA from Stanford University.
