Lauren A. Geddes Wirth, MDDartmouth Health’s New London Hospital (NLH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren A. Geddes Wirth, MD, as interim president and chief executive officer (CEO) of NLH. Geddes Wirth succeeds Tom Manion, who recently accepted the position as chief operating officer of Dartmouth Health’s Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Geddes Wirth currently serves as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at NLH and will continue to do so during her interim role.
Geddes Wirth joined NLH in September of 2023 from the Mass General Brigham health system. She graduated from Dartmouth College and the Brown-Dartmouth Program in Medicine. Geddes Wirth completed her pediatric residency at Brown University’s Hasbro Children’s Hospital/Rhode Island Hospital and was selected to serve an additional year as chief resident in pediatrics. Upon completing her residency, she established a pediatric practice in Sudbury, MA, that later became Mill Brook Pediatrics, a Mass General Brigham health system independent affiliate.
“Since her arrival to NLH six months ago, Dr. Geddes Wirth has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and a profound understanding of our organization as our CMO,” said Jeff Hollinger, chair of the NLH board of trustees. “As interim president and CEO, Dr. Geddes Wirth will undoubtedly bring her wealth of experience and innovative thinking while the board of trustees commences a formal search to fill the position.”
Geddes Wirth will begin her new responsibilities on April 3, 2024.
