New London Hospital appoints new chief medical officer

New London Hospital (NLH), a member of Dartmouth Health, has announced the appointment of Garrett J. Bomba, MD, as chief medical officer (CMO). 

Bomba brings a strong background in medical administration, with a focus on enhancing patient care and operational efficiencies. As CMO, he will lead clinical and quality initiatives that support consistent clinical performance and practice standards across NLH and Newport Health Center (NHC). 

Bomba joins NLH from Mass General Brigham (MGB) Medical Group, where he has served as chief physician executive and regional medical director of MGB Medical Group North.

Bomba graduated from the University of New Hampshire and attended medical school at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He completed his residency at the Western Campus of Tufts Medical School at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the National Board of Medical Examiners. Bomba is on the board of advisors for nursing education and the school of nursing and health sciences at Merrimack College.

Bomba is a lifelong New Hampshire resident and resides in southern New Hampshire. He will begin his new role at the end of September.
