We are so grateful to the Burkehaven Family Foundation for its generous matching gift, which allows our community’s compassion to have an even deeper impact.
Lauren A. Geddes Wirth, MDNew London Hospital (NLH), a member of Dartmouth Health, is proud to announce that the beneficiary of its 99th annual Hospital Days celebration will be its Patient and Family Community Care Initiatives, which provide essential resources including nutritious food, personal care items and emergency assistance to patients and families in the communities served by NLH and Newport Health Center (NHC).
Patient and Family Community Care Initiatives works to ensure dignity, health, and stability for individuals and families by offering practical and compassionate support.
To encourage broad community support for this cause, the Burkehaven Family Foundation has offered a $50,000 matching gift, doubling the impact of every donation made during Hospital Days. Every dollar contributed will go twice as far in helping NLH and NHC meet essential needs across the communities they serve.
“At NLH and NHC, we understand that good health begins with access to life’s essentials,” said Lauren A. Geddes Wirth, MD, president and CEO of NLH. “Our Patient and Family Community Care Initiatives are a direct response to the challenges many of our neighbors face, whether it’s food insecurity, lack of personal care resources or emergency needs. We are so grateful to the Burkehaven Family Foundation for its generous matching gift, which allows our community’s compassion to have an even deeper impact.”
Hospital Days, a cherished community tradition dating back nearly a century, will take place July 31 through August 2, and feature a weekend of family-friendly events and opportunities to support this vital program.
