With the closing of Newport Hospital in 1991, New London Hospital recognized the need for continuing primary care and ancillary services to Newport residents and opened the Newport Health Center. The Newport Health Center is an ongoing commitment by the Board of Trustees of New London Hospital to the Newport community. The center offers primary care, pediatrics, gynecology, podiatry, occupational health, laboratory, x-ray, mammography, and rehabilitive services. The center has evening hours, new patient care areas, and all physical therapy and rehab services in one location.
