The New London Hospital Emergency Department is fully staffed 24 hours a day by physicians, nurses and ambulance personnel who are specially trained in emergency care. The department is equipped to handle routine emergencies as well as complex medical, surgical and trauma care. It is located on the upper level of the hospital and is comprised of a three-bed trauma room and five private exam rooms.
New London Ambulance Service is an Advanced Life Support Service, staffing two ambulances daily and a third on call, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Paramedics and EMT-Intermediates are dedicated to providing high quality care. A helipad is available for medical air transport. Our community is assured of receiving excellent care in emergency situations.
New London Hospital's goal is to serve as an accessible resource for all EMS providers. Our EMS Coordinator is the liaison between New London Hospital, the EMS providers and EMS agencies in our region. We strive to support and enhance others' efforts, while providing leadership in the areas of quality and credentialing. The EMS Coordinator works to improve relationships and communication, expand educational offerings, perform case reviews, document CQI activities, improve hospital protocols and represent the region at state and regional districts and councils.

Transporting services Bradford Rescue and New London Ambulance Service use New London Hospital as their primary resource hospital.
These two ambulance services provide transport services to their own towns as well as all or parts of other towns. New London Hospital EMS provides paramedic level care and transport for New London, Wilmot, Grantham, Springfield, most of Sutton, half of Newbury and Sunapee. Bradford Ambulance services all of Bradford and parts of Sutton, Newbury and Warner.
Eight non-transporting services provide emergency medical care to their patients, but do not transport them to the hospital. The towns of Croydon, Goshen, Grantham, Newbury, Springfield, Sunapee, Sutton and Wilmot have F.A.S.T. (First Aid Stabilization Teams) or rescue squads.
The squads listed below provide initial treatment, stabilization and, in the case of a motor vehicle collision, extrication of their patients while the ambulance is en route to the scene. Once the ambulance arrives, patient care is transferred from the F.A.S.T. Squad to the transporting service. If additional resources are required for patient care, one of the F.A.S.T. squad members will ride in the ambulance to assist.
