Casting for Recovery

New London Hospital is a proud sponsor and retreat partner with Casting for Recovery (CfR), a national, non-profit organization offering support and educational 3-day retreats for women with breast cancer. The CfR retreats are open to women of all ages and in all stages of breast cancer treatment and recovery. The CfR retreat combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing.

On the weekend of June 7, 2019, the first CfR New Hampshire retreat was held at the Barbara C. Harris Center in Greenfield, New Hampshire. More than 10 volunteers and 14 participants enjoyed a beautiful, sunny weekend that included learning new skills, making new friendships, and creating lasting memories. A variety of local fish and game organizations participated with 16 river helpers (fly fishermen) donating their time and skills on the final day.

The CfR retreats are offered at no cost to the participants. Retreats are made possible through generous donations from our community. Your gift will change her life. Donate to Casting for Recovery.
