NEW LONDON HOSPITAL RECEIVES GENEROUS GIFT FOR MAMMOGRAPHY PROGRAM

Over a hundred golfers teed off at Lake Sunapee Country Club in support of the Sixth Annual LSCC Breast Cancer Golf Tournament on June 26. The Lake Sunapee Women's Golf Association who donates the proceeds to New London Hospital's Mammography Program hosts the tournament. The Mammography Program provides financial support to area women who otherwise cannot afford annual diagnostic testing and treatment.

The Lake Sunapee Women's Golf Association had a goal to raise $20,000. At the end of the event, the overall total was $19,399! Two extremely generous golfers donated $300 each in order to reach the goal. The $20,000 gift was presented to Bruce King, President and CEO of New London Hospital.

"This gift represents a strong commitment to women's health from the Women's Golf Association," said Bruce King. "New London Hospital is very grateful to be the recipient of the proceeds from this tournament."

Led by Mag Francis of New London, the organizing committee held an auction and asked local business, friends and family to participate in the tournament, sponsor a hole, or donate a raffle/auction item.
