NLH NAMES CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

New London Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Gregory Q. Curtis, MD to the position of Chief Medical Officer effective October 1. Dr. Curtis joined New London Hospital Practices in Internal Medicine in 2003 and became its first Hospitalist in August 2004. Under his leadership the Hospitalist program has expanded to a 24/7 service offered by the Hospital. Dr. Curtis served as President-Elect and President of the New London Hospital Medical Staff and Hospital Trustee from 2005 to present.

Dr. Curtis is Board certified in Internal Medicine and obtained a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Hahnemann School of Medicine/Medical College of Pennsylvania, where he also completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine.

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Curtis serves as the liaison to the Medical Staff, Board of Trustees and Administration, providing leadership in the alignment of providers and provider services with the Hospital's strategic plans and clinical services. He will work closely with the Medical Staff elected officers, department chairs and clinical service line medical directors to advance new and improved clinical programs and establish best practices. Dr. Curtis joins the Administration senior leadership team to add perspective and insight to strategic planning and daily operations. He will continue to oversee the Hospitalist program and provide clinical care as a practicing physician.

Dr. Curtis, his wife Elisabeth, and their two children, reside in Etna.
