Jim Lepich, MSN, APRN
to the Family Medicine
Practice. Mr. Lepich will
see patients at Newport
Health Center and will
work alongside Sameer
Chinoy, DO, Melissa
Nelson, MSN, APRN,
Lawrence Schissel, MD
and Carrie Webber, MD.
Mr. Lepich is a graduate
of Gannon University in Erie, PA, and earned his master’s
degree in the science of nursing at the University of
Southern Maine. Prior to joining NLH and NHC, he
spent three years as a family nurse practitioner at
Dahl Memorial Clinic in Skagway, AK, a remote village
located 100 miles from the nearest town.
With more than 12 years of emergency and critical care
nursing experience, Mr. Lepich has also worked for
Dartmouth-Hitchcock in the orthopedics department
and Mercy Hospital in Portland, ME. In addition he has
held instructor positions educating students and peers
in both classroom and clinical settings.
I am very excited to be a part of the family medicine
practice,” stated Jim. “The conglomeration of a strong
team atmosphere, inherent sense of community, and
commitment to providing exceptional healthcare
creates a great environment that I am thrilled to be
a part of.”

Zurheide as the
Vice President of
Community Relations
and Development—
and to introduce
Karen to those who
do not yet know her.
Karen has lived in New
London with her family
for nearly 10 years,
during which time she
has been a community
leader, including her
work as Executive
Director of The Fells
in Newbury and
Regional President
of Ledyard National
Bank in New London.
Previously, she was
Executive Director of nonprofits in Oklahoma and
Connecticut, the latter in coordination with hospitals
and patient families. She earned her MBA just up the
road at Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School.
Karen’s extensive experience with fundraising,
volunteers and community activities has prepared
her well for her new role with NLH. In her own words:
I am so happy to be joining this vibrant organization,
which is a vital component of the wonderful communities
in which we live and work. I am eager to partner with
staff, trustees and volunteers to help New London
Hospital become an ever stronger force for the health
and well-being of our area residents and visitors.”
