Friends of New London Hospital | September/October 2013
On June 15, The Friends of New London Hospital
welcomed over 180 passengers who landed
at Edmonds Aircraft Service in Newport, NH, for
An Evening for Propelling Wellness. This “first class”
event raised funds to support the 3D Mammography
System, an innovative new technology for breast
cancer screening, and the hospital’s Annual Fund.
The aviation-themed event included many
highlights that started with flight attendants
in vintage stewardess attire, who set the stage
for the night as they guided passengers through
turbulence and offered peanuts and pretzels
on a trolley ride made possible by Community
Alliance Transportation. During cocktail hour,
Gary Summerton Photography took “photo
booth” style pictures of guests who dressed
up with props pulled from an antique steamer
trunk. Through dinner, NLH President & CEO
Bruce King served as captain of the flight, and
The Propeller – It Was Just “PLANE” Fun!
Edmonds Aircraft Service all “gussied” up for The Propeller.

Flight attendants welcomed passengers in attire handmade by
committee members Miriam Nelson and Mattie Brown.
