Volunteer
Beryl Beltramini
graduated from Wittenberg College
in Springfield, OH with a degree in Humanities and a major
in Journalism. After college she worked in New York City for
Time
magazine in the advertising promotion department.
In 1956 she married Warren Beltramini, moved to New Jersey,
and six years later, their family had grown with four children:
three sons and a daughter.
After teaching high school history and working as a menswear
stylist and salesman, Warren purchased a hardware business
in HoHoKus, NJ
in 1969. Beryl
helped with sales
and finances.
In 1986 they
retired to New
London because
it is a friendly
New England college town and a great place for their family to visit
in summer and winter. They both enjoyed traveling overseas each
year, especially boating on the canals of Europe.
In 2001 Warren developed a muscle disease which limited his activities and caused him to spend time
as a patient in New London Hospital. After he passed away in 2006, Beryl chose to volunteer at the hospital
Friends Shop, a perfect fit since she had retail experience.
Volunteer Spotlight
Beryl Beltramini
It is fun to see people here, and
the merchandise in the shop
is so appealing. Everyone here
is so pleasant - it is great place
to volunteer.”
