of Breast Cancer Detection

Says Teresa Godsell, AuD, “These new clinical
partnerships between D-H and NLH are improving
patient access to needed services. For audiology,
previous patients from the New London area who
were traveling to Lebanon can now be seen closer
to their homes. And new patients at NLH can likewise
enjoy the convenience of local services. Many
of my patients are young children or older seniors,
each group for which travel can be a challenge.
For those of more middle-age, busy with work
or family responsibilities, I know they appreciate the
time saved by being evaluated and treated near home.”

The Lake Sunapee Country Club Women’s Golf
Association hosted the 8th Annual Mammography
Golf Tournament on August 12 at the Lake Sunapee
County Club. With a full field of players, the charity
tournament raised over $28,000 for the New London
Hospital Mammography Fund.
A volunteer committee of 13 women, with the help
of their families and friends, organized the successful
event, which through sponsor support, golfer
registrations, player donations, a raffle and silent
and live auctions raised more funds than in any prior
year of this tournament.
Established in 1990, the Mammography Fund provides
financial support to women who would not otherwise
be able to afford recommended diagnostic testing.
For eligible patients, the fund covers screening
mammograms as well as follow-up mammograms,
breast ultrasounds, breast biopsies and related
physician fees.
