Friends of New London Hospital November/December 2011
Old Courthouse Restaurant Hosts
2011 Donor Recognition Event
Jane Rastallis, NLH Trustee and proprietor of the Old Courthouse
Restaurant in Newport, welcomed 70 guests to the restaurant for
the annual donor recognition event on September 20. Attendees
enjoyed an array of delicious appetizers and beverages. Jane
welcomed donors and thanked them for their generosity, which
made it possible for many in the Newport community to receive
healthcare services at the Newport Health Center and the Tiger
Treatment Center at Newport Middle High School. Bill Helm,
Chair of the NLH Board of Trustees, and Bruce King, President &
CEO, also spoke at the event.
Your Philanthropy at Work
The holiday season seems a natural time to pause and
refect on the gifts that each one of us has been given.
New London Hospital is extremely grateful for your gifts
throughout the year.
Each year the hospital receives the gifts of time, talent,
and fnancial support and these gifts held particular
importance in 2011.
Volunteers gave thousands of hours escorting patients,
visiting with Clough residents, staffng the Friends Gift
Shop, arranging and delivering fowers to patients
and residents, delivering mail, fling, helping individual
departments with tasks, and much more.
The talents of others created an eye-catching and
exciting Grand Gala, helped organize the Baker Hill
Golf Tournament and the Lake Sunapee County Club
Women’s Golf Tournament, or contributed to the
success of Hospital Day and the Triathlon.
Hundreds of donors made it possible for the hospital
to raise well over $600,000 to provide care for patients
in need, make mammograms possible for women with
limited resources, allow the diabetes education program
to help more patients, support access to primary
care for students at the Newport Middle High School
through the Tiger Treatment Center, and purchase a
new van for the Clough Center. With your help, the
hospital has made a difference in our community.
Thank you for your generosity of spirit and putting that
generosity into action. All of us at New London Hospital
wish you a holiday flled with joy, peace and hope.
