Making a Difference in the Lives of Others

This year, National Volunteer Week was
April 12 through 18. This special annual
week, established by presidential order
in 1974, reminds us to recognize, thank
and encourage those who help their
communities as volunteers. At New
London Hospital there are more than
130 such women and men – including
the 31 pictured in our cover photo –
who give their time to the day-to-day
work that contributes to the well-being
of our patients and their families. Their
combined dedication translated into
10,083 volunteer hours at NLH in 2014!

Our volunteers provide us with a NLH's volunteer-run Friends' Shop raised over $27,000 in 2014.
vital community link through their
service in our institution and their
ambassadorship for NLH out in the
community. They help us conserve
