The New London Hospital oncology program is part of the Regional Cancer Program of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Physicians and Advanced Practice Nurses from the Regional Cancer Program provide specialized care to the patients at New London Hospital. Additionally, oncologist Marc Gautier, MD, and specialized nurse practitioner Elizabeth Kimtis, RN, MS, APRN of Dartmouth-Hitchcock, see patients in New London.
Oncology patients at New London Hospital receive a local option for individual care and do not have to travel a half-hour or more for treatment. At the hospital, they find high-back leather-like recliners, a naturally lighted room, and flat screen TVs. DVD players and Internet connections provide patients and their families with additional amenities that help pass the time during treatment. The goal of the new Specialty Services Unit at the hospital is to make what may be a difficult treatment as comfortable and convenient as possible.
