2011 Hospital Day and Parade Provided Fun for Everyone!

With a return to a one-day Hospital Day celebration, Saturday, August 6 saw hundreds of families enjoy a morning on the New London Town Green eating pancakes, playing games, learning how to fly fish, dancing to Zumbatomic, participating in face-painting, decorating cupcakes, and much, much more. The Parade kicked off at 2 PM and included floats, horses, marchers, music and the Wells Fargo Stagecoach. The afternoon brought the 1st Annual Battle of the Bands with seven bands from around the area competing for a grand prize. Visitors to the town green enjoyed a variety of food choices ranging from chicken satay to unique cupcakes. The outdoor Movie on the Green began at 8:30 PM with a showing of Grease. The rain stayed away and all agreed it had been a wonderful day!
Generous supporters and participant activities made Hospital Day and the Parade possible.
Sunday, August 7 brought over 300 triathletes to Bucklin Beach and the New London Historical Society for the 28th annual New London Triathlon. Course change, special awards, technical and mechanical support, plenty of food, and post-race massage made for an exciting and successful event!
New London Hospital extends appreciation and sincere thanks to its corporate sponsors, the New London area community, and each and every Volunteer who supported Hospital Day and the Triathlon.
