Through a generous donation from The Sparks Family of New London, New London Hospital (NLH) has acquired a Baldwin Grand Piano which will reside on the second floor main lobby. A program of live musical performances will be planned as part of the hospital's initiative to use the arts to promote health and well-being. Says NLH CEO and President, Bruce King, "In addition to our visual arts program of rotating exhibits we are pleased to bring the performing arts to the hospital community to enhance the healing and patient-centered environment we strive to provide."

An inaugural concert, by local musician, Isa Rex is planned during the Spring Art Exhibit Opening Reception at NLH on May 5, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The opening reception, in partnership with the Center for the Arts (CFA), First Friday Gallery Stroll will also feature visual artists; Diane Bell, Kathy Lowe, Sam Morgan, Janet Tamulevich, and Caroline Tavelli-Abar. Additional works will be on display at other CFA Micro Galleries in New London including Lake Sunapee Bank (Main St. location), Whipple Hall and the New London Inn. This event is free and open to the public. No RSVP required. This exhibit will be on display until September 1, 2017.

NLH is welcoming experienced pianists to partner with us as the performing arts program develops. If you are a pianist interested in performing at the hospital please email or call 603-526-5084.
