SIX HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS COMPLETE CARING STUDENT INTERN PROGRAM AT NLH

New London Hospital is proud to announce that six students from three New Hampshire high schools-Kearsarge Regional High School, Merrimack Valley High School and Sunapee Middle-High School-completed the 2015 Caring Student Intern (CSI) Program.

The CSI program is a four-day course that provides a unique hands-on learning opportunity designed specifically for high school students to explore the healthcare industry and healthcare career opportunities. The students had the opportunity to go behind the scenes and visit several areas in the hospital including the Emergency Department, Radiology, Laboratory, Physical Therapy, The William P. Clough Extended Care Center and others. They also participated in hands-on classes and learned about infection control, proper hand washing procedures, application and interview skills, quality improvement, and patient safety. Students were also able to receive their initial CPR certifications or CPR recertifications. All students were honored with certificates of completion of the CSI program.
