Eleven New London Hospital (NLH) employees are pursuing degrees in healthcare made possible in part by scholarships funded by generous community donors. Contributions made to the NLH Employee Education Scholarship Fund by the General William Mayer Foundation, the Nulsen Family Foundation, the Tracy Memorial Library Book Club and various other community members will support employees in their pursuit this year of the following degrees: Associate of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management and Administration, Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

A scholarship review committee made up of staff from NLH's Development, Education and Human Resources departments selected the recipients based on their passion to further their professional growth and their commitment to share their expanding knowledge in and through our community hospital. Pat Rienzo, Director of Organization Development says, "We at New London Hospital are honored to be able to pair the generosity of our donors with the goals and aspirations of our employees through the process of awarding these individual scholarships. It has been an inspiration to interview the applicants and learn about their goals, as well as their joys and challenges in achieving them."

Each year the Employee Education Scholarship Fund provides much needed support for employees to further their professional development and enhance their credentials, an investment in our hospital and our community.
