ORTHOPAEDIC PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT JOINS NEW LONDON HOSPITAL

New London Hospital is pleased to welcome Orthopaedic Physician Assistant and Athletic Trainer, Pete Peterson, PA-C, ATC. As a member of the Orthopaedic team, working alongside James Murphy, MD, Peterson will see patients at Newport Health Center.

Peterson received his first Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO and second from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK where he completed the Physician Assistant program. He also received his Master of Science degree in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training from Central Missouri State University and completed a one-year fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Fairborn, OH. Peterson's clinical interests include general orthopaedics, sports medicine, diabetic foot care and work related injuries. As a veteran himself he also looks forward to working with area military veterans.

Prior to joining the New London Hospital team, Peterson worked at Dartmouth-Hitchcock as an Orthopaedic Physician Assistant. He is board certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
