George Long, Information Security Analyst for New London Hospital since 2008, recently achieved certification as a Certified Computer Forensic Examiner (CCFE) through the Information Assurance Certification Review Board (IACRB), a global entity established to certify information security professionals. The certification requires many months of coursework and study consisting of lectures, labs and readings, culminating in a written exam and a detailed forensic analysis of a hard drive image for a mock case. The forensic analysis must be performed and a report of findings written using procedures that would allow the evidence to be admissible in a court of law. Long is one of a very small number of certified computer forensic examiners in the state of NH. As Information Security Analyst for New London Hospital, Long is responsible for the integrity and security of New London Hospital's network, patient health information and employee use of the hospital's systems. Long is a resident of Bradford, NH.
