NEW LONDON HOSPITAL NAMES PHARMACY DIRECTOR

New London Hospital (NLH) announces the appointment of Bob Theriault, Jr., MBA, RPh as Director of Pharmacy. In 1982, Theriault earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy at The University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in Storrs, CT. In 1990, he earned a Master of Business Administration Degree at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, School of Business in Troy, NY.

Prior to joining NLH, Theriault was Director of Pharmacy at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH. He has also served as Director of Pharmacy at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. From 1982 - 1997, he worked in various pharmacy positions at Windham Hospital in Willimantic, CT.
From 1989 - 1997, Theriault was Associate Clinical Professor of Pharmacy at The University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in Storrs, CT. He is a member of numerous professional societies, among them the American Society of Health System Pharmacists and the NH Society of Health System Pharmacists where he is currently a member of the Board of Directors.

Theriault's major interests include integrating clinical pharmacy, automation and medication safety within the healthcare team. He is particularly interested in promoting medication safety and improving patient outcomes through collaboration and evidence-based programs.
