Did you know that loss of vision, hearing and physical strength is gradual and can go virtually unnoticed? To help address these concerns for those who drive, the AARP has designed the "55 Alive" Driver Safety Program, which will be held at New London Hospital on Wednesday, November 17 and Thursday, November 18, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Both parts will be held in the Helm Conference Room, 2nd floor of the Medical Affiliates Building.
This two-part course is the nation's first and largest classroom driver refresher course designed for motorists 50 years of age and older. Although open to all ages, it is specially designed to help older drivers improve and refresh their driving skills while teaching them to avoid accidents and traffic violations.
The eight-hour course is taught in two four-hour sessions spanning two days. Both classes must be attended. Registration fee is $12 per person for AARP members, and $14 for non-members. which includes all materials. Participants are asked to bring their driver's license and AARP membership card to the course.
This course is sponsored by New London Hospital. Pre-registration is required by mailing payment (checks made payable to AARP) with name(s) and address(es) to Community Relations, New London Hospital, 273 County Road, New London, NH 03257. Space is limited.
