HOSPITAL AND LEGISLATIVE ISSUES ADDRESSED

New London Hospital President & CEO Bruce King addressed a group of NH legislators at a recent gathering. Mr. King welcomed the group and explained the hospitalís strategic initiatives. These include quality, health information and electronic medical records, facilities update, expansion at the Newport Health Center, continuing care retirement community, and working toward becoming an employer of choice. Two advocacy issues, Medicaid appropriations and continuing the NH Health Care Quality Assurance Commission, were discussed. The group also addressed the healthcare funding shortfall in the NH budget.
